Introduction
The Moveware implementation team has extensive experience in working with clients to ensure a timely, smooth and value-adding transition from existing systems.
Our approach ensures that client personnel are provided with the necessary tools, training and on-going support to maximise the value gained from using Moveware.
The foundation of this strategy relies on the project plan, which details all the different activities. As the project progresses, the project plan has to be revisited and adjusted. Regular progress meetings can be held to determine the status of active items and discuss any particular difficulties, followed by an action plan.
Of course, successful project management needs some hierarchy and information channelling. Each party should identify a project leader who talk and meet regularly. The project leaders can hold progress meetings with all the heads of departments or specific meetings per activity.
The implementation of Moveware typically involves the following steps, customised as necessary to meet client requirements and take account of their operating environment.
Moveware provides an estimate of implementation costs however a firm quote for the provision of these services can be provided only after fully scoping a company’s requirements.
Preliminary Planning
Discussions with management and staff to identify Customer work processes and how Moveware Software will satisfy the requirements. Fully scope Customer requirements in terms of system functionality, implementation and training.
Implementation plan is agreed with a proposed “go-live date”.
Suitability of hardware is investigated and if necessary new hardware is required.
Software Installation
Software installation involves the installation of the database on the server and client machines as required depending on the exact hardware and network configuration chosen by the Customer.
Configuration
Configuration is one of the most important steps of the implementation. Configuration involves the setting up of code tables, job types, diary actions, chart of accounts, costs centres etc. all designed in making Moveware match a companies method of conducting business. It is important that we involve and teach Customer staff as much about the setup of Moveware to make it easy for them in getting the most out of Moveware from day one and into the future.
Company Specific Moveware Development
As part of the implementation documents and reports will be customized to suit companies requirements. In addition Customers may require further customization to Moveware functions and modules.
Report Writing
Moveware comes standard with many reports and documents. These include quote, invoice, statement, job docket, waybill, customer and agent letters etc. Many of these will be suitable for Customer use without the need for modification. Some others will need to be changed and of course there will be requirements for new ones to be developed.
Custom Development
Moveware has the capability to modify and enhance specific areas of Moveware at a Customer’s request.
Data Import
As part of the implementation existing Customer data and data tables can be imported into Moveware. The scope of any importing would need to be determined. Data imported may include debtor and creditor master files and transactions, storage, inventory, removal information etc.
Training
To ensure that your company will obtain the full benefit of Moveware, we recommend that adequate training be provided to staff. The amount of training required will vary with staff position specifications and depends also on the existing skill levels of staff.
Training programs can be tailored to a company’s needs. We strongly recommend providing intensive training for key staff who can them disseminate that information throughout the organisation. It may be worth bringing staff from other branches to one location and training them together so that a consistent approach is maintained.
Implementation Review
Review the implementation to ensure that system is performing as intended and provide further training and assistance where necessary
